WE RESOLE DR. MARTEN BOOTS

At our shop, boots are more than just footwear—they are a passion and a craft that we have dedicated ourselves to for decades. Since the late 1970s, we have specialized in Vibram sole replacement, boot resoling, and shoe repair for customers in Salem, Oregon and through our national mail-in repair service. Our master cobbler, George, brings more than 40 years of hands-on experience to every pair he works on.

Throughout his career, George has rebuilt and restored thousands of shoes and boots, developing a strong sense for which techniques and materials truly stand the test of time. That experience shows up in the details, and it is one reason customers trust us with favorite pairs they do not want to replace.

When it comes to recrafting Dr. Martens, we use premium Vibram soles known for durability, comfort, and excellent grip. Depending on the boot and the customer’s needs, common options may include the Vibram 1705 Stowe sole, Vibram 4014, or other suitable replacement soles. Our careful workmanship often results in boots that are not just restored, but improved—many customers tell us their rebuilt Docs feel even better than when they were new.

We take pride in the trust our customers place in us. Many come back again and again, bringing in favorite boots for repair and sharing positive feedback about the quality of our work. Their loyalty is one of the best signs that the process works.

Dr. Marten Boots Before Resole

Worn Dr. Marten boots before professional resoling and repair.
These Dr. Marten boots arrived at our shop with badly worn original soles, but the leather uppers still had plenty of life left in them. A good candidate for resoling is often a favorite pair that is comfortable, broken in, and worth keeping rather than replacing.

Dr. Marten Boot Repair with Vibram 4014

Dr. Marten boots repaired and resoled with Vibram 4014 replacement soles.
The Vibram 4014 is one of the replacement soles we can use when rebuilding Dr. Marten boots. It provides a cushioned walking surface with good traction and gives the finished boots a slightly different feel from the original Dr. Marten sole.

Custom Dr. Marten Sole Replacement

Resoling Dr. Martens involves more than simply attaching a new sole. The old sole must be removed, the bottom properly prepared, and the replacement carefully fitted, bonded, trimmed, and finished to create a strong and clean repair.

Rebuilt Dr. Marten Boots for Everyday Wear

We have been repairing and resoling footwear for decades, and that experience matters when working with unusual or difficult sole constructions. Each pair of Dr. Martens is inspected individually so we can determine the most appropriate way to rebuild it.

MORE SOLE OPTIONS FOR YOUR DR. MARTENS

Not every pair of Dr. Martens requires the same replacement sole. Depending on the condition of your boots, the way you wear them, and the style you prefer, we may recommend several different Vibram sole options. Some customers want to preserve the classic appearance of their Docs, while others prefer a sole with more cushioning, a more aggressive tread pattern, improved durability, or just a different style.

Popular choices include the Vibram 4014, the Vibram 1705 Stowe, and several other replacement soles that have proven themselves over years of real-world use. Each sole offers a different combination of comfort, flexibility, traction, and appearance, allowing us to match the repair to both the boot and the customer's needs.

One of the advantages of resoling Dr. Martens is the ability to choose a replacement sole that better matches the way you actually wear your boots. Whether your priority is comfort, traction, flexibility, or durability, several Vibram options may be available.
