Professional Shoe Lift Service for Uneven Legs

If one leg is shorter than the other, the right shoe lift can help improve balance, comfort, posture, and gait. Many physicians, chiropractors, podiatrists, and therapists recommend shoe lifts for leg length discrepancy.

Our custom shoe lifts are made for real-world daily use. We work on dress shoes, work boots, many athletic shoes, golf shoes, and many other everyday styles. The goal is not only function, but also a natural-looking result.

How it works

  1. Print and complete our shipping form.
  2. We only need the one shoe that needs the lift.
  3. Package your shoes or boots and mail them to us.
  4. We complete the lift and return them to you.

For most customers, USPS Priority Mail works very well. A large Priority Mail Tyvek envelope is often enough for one shoe. The Post Office also has free boxes if you are sending more than that.

What makes our method different

  • In most cases, we remove the original sole first.
  • Then we add the lift to the shoe.
  • Then we put the original sole back on.
  • This helps the finished shoe look cleaner and more professional.
  • It also helps both shoes continue to match.

Frequently Asked Questions About Shoe Lifts

These are some of the most common questions we get from customers around the country.

What is a shoe lift for leg length discrepancy?

A shoe lift is a custom build-up added to one shoe to compensate for a leg length difference. This can help improve balance, comfort, posture, and walking alignment.

What kind of shoes can you put lifts on?

We can put a lift into almost any sole, including many molded soles, unit soles, one-piece soles, work boots, dress shoes, golf shoes, and many athletic shoes.

Can you work on athletic shoes?

Yes. Keep in mind that our lifts are smooth-edged. Some athletic shoes have heavily sculpted edges, and while we can often shape the lift to follow those lines, smoother-edged shoes generally blend better.

Can you do work boots?

Yes. Danner, Red Wing, Carolina, Belleville, Blundstone, and many other work boots are no problem.

Can you do golf shoes?

Yes. We have done many golf shoes and there is no extra charge for that.

Do I need a prescription to get a shoe lift?

Usually no. Many customers already know the amount they need because a doctor, chiropractor, podiatrist, or therapist has measured them. If you are unsure of your lift height, it is best to get measured first.

How do I know how much lift I need?

Most customers send us the measurement they were given by a healthcare professional. If you do not know the exact amount, we recommend that you get properly evaluated before mailing your shoes. You can also read our guide here: Who can measure my leg length difference?

Why do a full sole shoe lift instead of just a heel lift?

In many cases, a full sole lift gives better balance and a more natural result than lifting only the heel. Unless a clinician has recommended something different, full sole lifts are often the better all-around choice.

Is it better to put the lift inside the shoe or outside the shoe?

For larger corrections, an external lift is usually the better solution. Internal lifts are limited by shoe depth and can crowd the foot. External lifts allow more correction while preserving comfort.

Will the lift be noticeable?

We shape and blend the lift as cleanly as possible. In most cases, the result looks natural, especially when the shoe has a simple sole edge.

Can you match both shoes so they still look alike?

Yes. In most cases, we remove the original sole, add the lift, and then put the original sole back on. This helps both shoes continue to match.

How durable are your shoe lifts?

Very durable. We use professional-grade materials and adhesives designed for real daily wear. Here in western Oregon, we get a lot of rain, and our methods have proven themselves over many years.

Does the adhesive ever separate in wet or snowy weather?

Our work is designed to hold up in real weather conditions. If our adhesives did not perform in wet weather, we would not still be doing this after all these years.

Can shoe lifts help with back, hip, or knee pain?

Many people seek shoe lifts because uneven leg length can contribute to discomfort higher up the chain, including the knees, hips, and back. A properly prescribed lift can help restore balance and reduce strain.

Can I run, walk a lot, or stay active with a shoe lift?

Many customers use their lifts in everyday walking shoes, work shoes, and athletic shoes. Activity tolerance depends on the person, the shoe, and the amount of correction.

If I have never worn a lift before, should I start with the full amount?

Some people adapt immediately, while others do better building up gradually, especially when the discrepancy has been present for a long time. That decision is best made with your healthcare provider.

What styles or brands do you usually not work on?

There are only a few that we usually cannot do: Birkenstock Footprints, track shoes with cleats or spikes, shoes with exposed springs, and shoes with exposed air pockets. Embedded air pockets are often fine. If you are unsure, email us a photo and we will gladly take a look.

Do you ship internationally?

Sorry, we only ship within the USA.

How long does the process take?

Turnaround is usually fast once we receive your shoes. Shipping within the USA by Priority Mail is often about 2 to 4 days each way.

Q: Do I need to send you both shoes?

We only need the shoe that needs the lift, the left or the right.

How do I start the process?

Print and complete our shipping form, package your shoes, and mail them to us. We will take care of the rest.
