All of these soles are made of Vibram "Compound", a very durable material similar in density to the original Keen Hiking boot soles.
We re-heel and re-sole quite a few of these Keen Targhee hikers at out Salem Oregon repair shop.
Our most popular option. Vibram Kletterlift heels have a deep lug pattern for great traction and grip.

Q: Can Keen hiking boots be repaired?
A: Keens are actually a great boot to re-heel and re-sole. We have worked with hundreds of them. Because of the way the factory soles are applied, it is not practical to replace them with an original sole, however, rebuilding them with Vibram soles is an excellent way to save your boots and save you money. We don't replace the whole soles, just the bottom 3/8" or so, after re-working and leveling the original materials.
Q: How do I know if I need new soles, or if it's better to just do the heels.
A: Feel free to bring them in for a free consult. We look at peoples shoes and boots all the time, we are happy to look at what you have and discuss it wth you.
